✦ Preparing Your Wall Surface

For best results, the wall surface should be smooth, clean, and completely dry prior to installation. Wipe the wall with warm water and mild soap to remove dust, oil, or debris, and allow it to dry for at least 24 hours. Smooth painted walls provide the most reliable adhesion. Surfaces with heavy texture such as orange peel, knockdown texture, or rough plaster may prevent proper adhesion and are not recommended.

Begin by laying your wallpaper panels flat and measuring your wall to determine placement. Mark a straight vertical guideline to ensure your first panel is aligned correctly before installation begins.

Starting at the top of the wall, position the first panel and peel back a small portion of the protective backing. Align the design with the ceiling and press the exposed adhesive onto the wall. Gradually peel the backing away a few inches at a time while smoothing the panel downward. Work slowly and support the material as you go, smoothing from the center outward to remove air bubbles. A squeegee may be used to guide trapped air toward the edges.

When applying additional panels, align the left edge of each new strip with the right edge of the previous panel so the design matches seamlessly. Continue working across the wall from left to right until the surface is fully covered. Once complete, trim any excess material along ceilings, baseboards, or corners using a sharp blade.

✦ Surfaces Not Recommended For Installation

Peel-and-stick wallpaper is designed for smooth interior wall surfaces and may not adhere properly to certain materials. Installation is not recommended on textured or uneven walls, dark or multi-colored walls, previously wallpapered surfaces, brick or cinder block, unpainted drywall or plaster, exterior surfaces, or walls coated with non-stick paints.

Additionally, wallpaper should not be installed in areas with high humidity, steam, or heat exposure such as bathrooms or kitchens, as this may cause peeling or adhesion issues.

To remove, begin at the top corner and gently lift the wallpaper. Slowly peel at a 45-degree angle, maintaining a steady pace. Avoid pulling quickly or straight outward, as this may damage the wall surface. If needed, gentle heat can be applied to soften the adhesive during removal. Please note that wall damage may occur during installation or removal depending on surface conditions.
